2017 Ford Ranger: Safety and style in Brazil



Ford met the Latin American press for the release of the new Ranger 2017 as part of an investment of 220 million dollars in the region. Available in hatchback versions and the latest diesel and five-year warranty, unprecedented in the segment, the new truck was presented in the Argentine city of Puerto Iguazu, in the province of Misiones, on the border with Brazil.

The flex versions with engine 2.5, are priced from R$ 99,500 to R$ 109,500. The diesel models have engine options 2.2 and 3.2, priced from R$ 129,900 to R$ 179,900, on top of the line, with unique items technology.

The new Ranger is the first pickup truck in 2017 in Brazil to offer five-year warranty. It also brings a new annual maintenance plan with fixed price that places it as the average pickup of best value for money. Has the catalogs finishing XLS, XLT and Limited, and stands out for improvement in the external design, new interior and advanced security suite.



Special Sale

As a special launch offer of the new Ranger, Ford created two different actions. In the exclusive pre-sale program, the owners of the Ranger model year 2013-2016 can purchase the new truck with 11% discount. Reservations can be made in Ford Distributors from 9 April, for delivery from May. The initial quota available for this program is 350 units subject to availability. The purchase includes a clause restricting the period of six months and another requirement is that the transfer of the used car has been held until April 8, 2016.

Another option is the Plan Seasonal Ranger, created to serve primarily the needs of farmers. It is valid for the diesel versions of the new Ranger, with semi-annual payments over three years and a rate of 6% per year, plus input 54%.

Exclusive Technologies

All models of the new Ranger come standard with seven airbags, alloy wheels, fog lights, trip computer, autopilot, Isofix system for child seats and Advance Trac system - with electronic stability control, electronic traction control, starting assistant ramp, Rollover electronic control, adaptive load control and emergency braking assistance.

It is also the first segment with electric power steering, which reduces stress on maneuvers and increases the firmness on the road. The diesel versions still carry automatic control descent, limited slip rear differential, sump guard and fuel tank protector.

The XLT version enhances the look with side straps, tubular chrome SantAntonio and several items - the radiator grille, grille fender, headlights, the rear covers, door handles and rear bumper. Adds automatic digital air conditioning and also with individual control for the driver and passenger seats and steering wheel clad in leather, rear parking sensor, tire pressure monitoring and programmable key MyKey.

The Limited-end comes packed with exclusive technologies. Has adaptive autopilot, collision warning, lane permanently system, automatic high beams and customize ambient light system in seven colors, plus SantAntonio with exclusive design, rims 18, roof rack, bucket protector and maritime hood .



Connectivity

The line also comes standard with SYNC connectivity system with CD / MP3-player, USB / iPod, Bluetooth, voice commands for audio, telephone, audio controls on the steering wheel and Emergency Assistance, which is an automatic link to SAMU, through a cell paired in case of accident with activation of airbags or cut fuel.

The screen is 4.2 inches in the XLS version and 8 inches for the XLT and Limited, which also includes navigation and two 4-inch screens on the dashboard that can be configured by the driver.

Terrain Efficiency

New Ranger brings enhancements that make it even better known your performance on any terrain, with 1 ton load capacity. In both diesel engines, 3.2 and 2.2, advances include piezo injectors and new turbochargers, to increase efficiency and economy.

The Duratorq 3.2 TDCi, five-cylinder, remains the strongest category, with 200 hp and 470 Nm. The Duratorq 2.2 TDCi increased the power to 160 hp and torque to 385 Nm. The Duratec 2.5 Flex 173 / 168 hp brings electronic system startup Ford Easy Start releasing the six pack aid station.

All diesel versions come with 4x4 wheel drive standard options (High) and low (Low), limited slip rear differential, which increases the ability to overcome obstacles.



Stately and Refined

The look of the new Ranger became more modern and imposing, with trapezoidal front grille - the signature line global Ford - sculptured hood creases and with new headlights with projectors.

The interior creates a modern and comfortable, with quality materials especially selected depending on the characteristics of durability and style of the new truck. The new features also include the panel horizontal bar format and the steering wheel, strong structure and excellent grip. Banks have a design that focuses on comfort, with electric drives in eight locations in the Limited version.

Global Project

In South America, the line is now produced in India, South Africa, Thailand and China for over 180 worldwide markets.
